How we assist

Meditation groups in hospitals

Meditation groups in hospitals are aimed at people with illnesses or in end-of-life situations.

In each meeting, mindfulness is cultivated, providing the strength to transform fear and anxiety into acceptance and love.

Accompaniment at home

At your side and in your home, we provide you with personalised support according to your needs and priorities.

We create a safe and respectful space for your process based on loving kindness and deep respect for your world and your privacy.

Vocational training

Our training program is aimed at professionals and volunteers who are dedicated to supporting end-of-life or illness processes.

We teach meditation practice as a seed for cultivating presence and listening, as well as for cultivating compassion and empathy.

Child Accompaniment

We gently and respectfully support children who face the difficulties of growing up as cancer patients, or who are in the final stages of their lives.

We use theatre as a tool to transform their suffering. We also provide support to their parents and relatives through group meditation.

Stories of transformation

  • "During my chemotherapy treatment, I started meditating with the Vidāya Foundation and from the first day everything changed. Meditation taught me to listen and calm my mind, and to relax my body. For me, it is an indispensable tool for living in today's world. I hope that in the future, meditation will be present in all centres, starting with schools. Thank you!"

  • "I was very fortunate to be able to practice meditation at ICO, guided by Laura Casadó, during my cancer treatment. In the sessions, I was able to connect with my breathing, which calmed my emotions and increased my confidence in recovering my health. Meditation is now part of my life. Namaste."

  • "Since my mother started meditating in the Vidāya Foundation sessions, she has found a balance that was missing before. Her calmer attitude has had a positive impact on our family. Personally, going into the classes, I feel stiff, but coming out I am more relaxed and connected to myself. Meditation allows me to feel love for myself, which I value enormously."

The Vidāya Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to accompanying people in the end-of-life or illness process through the practice of meditation in public hospitals, helping them to find peace and serenity through mindfulness-based encounters.

Meditation is part of our accompaniment because we believe in its capacity to improve the quality of care, and to cultivate the qualities of presence and compassion. It is also a practice that allows us to understand that impermanence is essential for living and dying well. Meditation helps to integrate and enrich our essence in the journey of life and death, seizing life's changes as invaluable opportunities.

Vajrayana Buddhism and its spiritual practice which provides us with a refuge, a shelter in which to develop an understanding of what is happening both outside and inside our minds and hearts. It provides us with stability and enables us to develop healthy mental qualities such as compassion, kindness and detachment; qualities that give us resilience to face and transform suffering.

Through our group meetings, workshops and accompaniment services we offer you the opportunity to investigate our mental states based on the four pillars of mindfulness: body, sensations, mind and mind objects.

Our services are designed for patients at the end of life, people coping with a serious illness, their families, as well as professionals and volunteers accompanying near-death processes or serious illness.

We offer workshops and group meditation meetings in public hospitals throughout Spain, emotional accompaniment, training for health professionals, volunteers, and people interested in working on the experience of death and its integration. These workshops are focused on physical, mental and emotional well-being as well as the ability to deepen our own understanding of the transience of our lives.

You can join our group sessions in hospitals, where you will get tools to deal with the suffering generated by life transits. For more information, please contact us, contact us through our website.

The home service offers a personalised accompaniment in your home, creating a space of intimacy in times of suffering, based on loving-kindness, compassion and equanimity.

It is also for anyone who is interested in cultivating these qualities in their lives and is willing to do work on suffering and the ability to move through pain and transform it into beauty through compassion.
